Hello All

I have been doing some reasearch and want to bounce some stuff off of you to see where I may be weak and or stronge.

At Perryville the Corn Fed's have been promoted to Divisonal staff. Which will give us a large body of men to do some things that we don't narmaly see at events small or large.

One of those things that I would like to see done is a full Advance guard and rear guard.

Here it is.


The Advanced Guard.


Line of skiermishers.
(Extending 4 to 5 hundred yards past the main bodys flanks.)

Support.
(follows the road equal number as skirmishers)
posted 100 yards behind skirmish line.

Field artillery.
(3 in number posted directly behind support)

Cav. Attached to support as scouts.

Reserve.
(posted 150 yards behind Support)


Total Body 1/2 mile ahead of the main body.


On the Flanks

Skirmishers Deployed marching by the flank.
Enough to cover the main body from the AG to the RG

Support marching by the flank equal to skirmishers.

Cav. attached to flank supports as scouts.


Rear Guard.

RG is deployed the rear 500 yards in the same fasion as the AG.

Skirmishers
(Extending 1 to 2 hundred yards past the flanks)

Support.
(Posted 50 to 75 yards behind skirmishers)

Field Artillery.
(Posted behind support.)

Cav. Attached to support as scouts.

Reserve.
(Posted 75 to 100 yards behind Support)


I think that is it. If you were to draw it out it would look like the head of a shovel. With the long Skirmish line up front the short line in back and the flankers tapering to meet the ends of both.

Like I said let me know where I'm weak or stronge.

I can't always tell being dyslexic. If you think about it if we were 100% true to history there are two things that I could accuratly protray. Someone who could not read or right because I would of been given up on or someone sitting out the war because I would of been hidden in a institution.
