Officers and leadership 1 Year, 9 Months ago

Hey all,
I was watching the latest episode of "The Pacific" and the
synchronicity with Scott Gutzke's talks recently in Galena
was not lost on me. Ack Ack and Gunny really knew what they
were about ~ it was about the welfare of the men, as best they
could. A quiet word, an encouragement, a kick in the ass,
whatever was needed. And a tireless attention to what was
going on around them.
On Galena and the Ryan House ~
To quote one now gone, I had a good time, did you?
Next time, a whole heart ~ well rinsed out.
yer comrade and messmate, Jim

I had a good time too. Drilling, hanging out with my pards, and learning a few things while we are at it. Thanks to all involved.

Hi gents,
I had a good time as well - very good time thanks to many gents such as Terry, Jason, Andy, and Scott. Also Mr. Schumann - we did well on that beef tounge prep!
Two quick announcements:
1. For those interested in following up on our battalion drill from our COI, the Hard Head Mess/Citizens Guard will forming a campaigner company for the battalion drill at the Wade House State Historical Site this Saturday. We will working with the Poor Boys Mess on learning some aspects regarding a well rounded accurate impression. Any one from the ONV is welcome to attend, our POC just needs to know whom is planning on attending. Feel free to post here if interested - Scott Sonntag will be leading the company at the drill.
2. We are still taking registrations for Fort Wayne - Disaffected in Canada on June 11-13h. Jeremy has a good list of guys attending and we can use your help. Deadline is May 10th.
Thanks gents and our trip to Gettysburg went very well this weekend - lots of good preservation work by the Hard Heads.

To add to this. Jefferson and I are going to catch a Tigers game on our way out. The Tigers play the Pirates @ 1:00 on Sunday.
I wish it was the Cubs but going to a MLB game is worth it.
