Athens 4 Years, 6 Months ago
I just want to comment that Athens was a great time. It was my first visit there and I was surprised at the quality of the site. I also want to compliment Holler and the rest of the Hairy Nation Boys. They did a great job. Part of the enjoyment of being in the field is seeing and doing new things. I always enjoy learning and the HNB's took us over the field and explained what happened. I really liked that.

Uncle Beau and the commissary treated us well and as usual during this season, I gained weight over the weekend.

I am looking forward to Athens 08, but before then I hope to see everyone at Old World

I'll second that about a terrific event Holler and the boys put on. Great food and and a thank you to the cooks who did an outstanding job. What more can I say about pies. If you weren't there you missed it.
The only downer for me was chigger bites. I must have over 50 bites all over my body especially around my ankles. I'm still itching.

Wow Rich;

I don't have one chigger bite, but my eye was another thing. That is mostly healed up now. Glad you ate well. I enjoy doing that (eating and cooking). See ya soon.

Pards:
Good to hear such positive remarks concerning Athens!
Thanks to all of you Wisconsin boys who made the long trip.
Athens is very dear to the Hairy Nation, so we're naturally both proud and pleased to be able to share it with kindred souls, such as you all.
Personally, I was proud to have created a few gooseberry pie aficionados out of you boys.
We look forward to Athens 08.
Yours,
Peter Castleman

I would like to thank everyone who made it down or up to Athens. We are currently working on 2008 (battle year) and we hope that many of you return or you make your first trip to Athens.

Chiggers are all a part of the game. Was at Wilson's Creek this past weekend and I am covered. I love those cute little human flesh eaters! At least the ticks were not as bad as they were in May.

I hope to see you ALL at Outpost!
