Forage Cap 5 Years ago  
Where could I find a decent priced federal forage cap. I'm hoping to find one before the Shiloh Living History. Does anybody have any idea where i could find one.

D2,

They often times have Forage caps for sale on the Authentic Campaigner site. If you let me know your size 7.5 etc. I could keep an eye out for one.

Be prepared to get a good one. You will have to shell out some $. I got mine for $75 two years ago and most considered it a bargain.

If you want a new one you could try E.J. Thomas or Jersey skillet

Hey,
I have looked at samancik federal forage cap but after i would order it wouldn't be here in time for shiloh.

I need one like before april and i messed up on that to i should of ordered it before jan.

I have will be ordering a federal issue forage cap for $80 from samancik but wont be here until after shiloh for sure.
is that a good deal i htought they had good looking gear.

SO i dont kno what to wear.

Double D, Greg Starbuck makes great caps. If he has your size in stock he *should* be able to get it to you in time for Shiloh. When I got mine from him it was in stock and I received it in several weeks.Here is a link to his site. His caps are a little more at $95, but they are worth it in my opinion.

If you need it within a week Skillet Licker is your best bet. Mike Anderson makes some nice forage caps.

I got a Brad Keune(sp) a few years back, back then he said he was in retirement but agreed to make one for me (very affordable) but I hear he might still be making them, hes an economical choice for a great cap.
