My limited civilian impression is usually a low-brow lower class laborer type.
For living history, my limited civilian impression is also a low-brow, lower class laborer type.

My civilian impression would range in the low to mid-class laborer. Trying to be too high class leaves you open to jabs from your comrades. Nobody wants to be called a dandy.

Hi gents,
I would say middle class for sure. Anyone whom saw us at Old World this year can attest to that as Sorchy tried to recruit even a injured discharged soldier for duty. ;D
However some of our mess members have portrayed high class society as well. We can be pretty flexible if the impression dictates.
Now the Mason's of the 2004 Old World were of a class unknown but left a mark on the citizens that they will not soon forget.

Hello,
To answer the poll. I have had alot of fun the past year putting together civilian impressions(complete) from a laborer, lowere middleclass, middle class, and upper class. Each class impression needed three entire changes of cloths. WHEW

I have a qustion folks as far as civilians for the old northwest authentics go. Are authentic female impressions going to be included? My lady friend (and she does an INCREDIBLE job at this) was wondering. There are alot of authentic civilians out here that dont have a home either and are sick of staying in the circus that is "civilian" camp at most events.
Cheers

Terry, I want to say yes to this one. Maybe it would do some good for people to see that not every female reenactor is a "belle of the ball." Besides, I have a lady friend as well who would be severly ticked off not to have fun with the authentics in the area.

Coool ;D because she is actually the one that started me going getting civilian kit and doing research in that aspect. She can also run the gammit of classes that existed/ both north and south AND she makes the BEST socks and scarves, trigger finger mittens, quilts, civilian vests, silk ties and handkerchiefs I have seen. She has been a knitter, seamstress and quilter for over 25 years and is very precise on what she produces. If anyone needs anything like these she will take orders to, or do custom work.(sounds like Im proud of her dosnt it, yup)
Cheers

All the Nation Boys have decent working class to skilled labor civilian kits. Anybody at Athens got a look this year.
Boy, I hate to point this out, but our boys will not do State Guard.

My civilian kit covers working/laboring class folk. Like the Hairy Nation Boys though, no State Guard.

I have most of my civilian kit together, save a pair of shoes and a Sack coat.
My impression would definetely be working/lower class, and I would like to do a number of events as a civilian, but I don't get the opportunity at all.
